Happy Christmas everyone!
I will allow myself and use this Ralph Hulett's illustrations as it shows our (mine and M's) approach to Christmas traditions we need to face alone this year ;)
Me being ill all week and still being poorly doesn't help...
Here few things:
-There's a monster of a fish in our kitchen sink that needs to be 'prepared', I'm still scared it'll start to move....
-M. did a mega golden star to decorate the top of our tree, it's geometry was so complicated that it almost worked (photos to be published soon ;)).
-New pumpkin cake to be made today with milk chocolate to brake the tradition but hey, if you feel really bad and don't have a mixer, what can you do?!
-I made a traditional cabbage with mushrooms, following a family recipe and it's ALMOST as good as the one we had last year... (as they say, "almost makes a big difference")
So, you see, we're kind of taking this Christmas as it is and I'm sure it will be still fun and special, only different.
Being without our families and not seeing our friends we usually see when we're in Poland will be difficult but hopefully soon we'll be able to make this up!
So, without being too grumpy, Happy Christmas to you all and all the best in NEW YEAR (special, this one :))!

Wesolych Swiat!
Ta ilustracja Ralpha Huletta, pozwole sobie zilustrowac nasze (moje i Macka) nastawienie do swiatecznych tradycji jakie musimy w tym roku okielznac sami ;)
Moja choroba i brak znacznej poprawy nie pomaga...
Tu kilka z naszych zmagan:
-w kuchennym zlewie jest mega ryba, ktora musi zostac 'przygotowana', a ja nadal sie boje, ze sie poruszy, albo co gorsza przmowi ludzkim glosem....
-M. zrobil duuuza, zlota gwiazde na szczyt naszej nieduzej choinki, jej geometria jest tak skomplikowana, ze prawie wyszla (zdjecia niedlugo ;))
-Zaraz zabieramy sie za ciasto dyniowe z mleczna czekolada, co by zlamac tradycje, ale jak sie jest chorym i nie ma miksera, to trzeba inaczej kombinowac!?
-Ja zrobilam tradycyjna kapuste z grzybami, wedlug rodzinnego przepisu i wyszla PRAWIE taka pyszna jak oryginal z zeszlego roku... (jak mowia, "prawie robi duza roznice")
Wiec jak widac staramy sie, a jak wychodzi tak wychodzi ;) Mimo podkniec i trudnosci, przygotowania do naszych pierwszych Swiat razem-razem sprawiaja nam duzo radosci i na pewno beda one wyjatkowe, mimo, ze jednak inne.
Jednak brak naszych rodzin i niemoznosc spotkania sie z przyjaciolmi, jak co roku w Polsce beda trudne, ale mamy nadzieje, ze w miare niedlugo to nadrobimy!
Wiec, bez zbednego marudzenia, zyczymy Wam Wesolych Swiat i wszystkiego najlepszego w NOWYM ROKU (tym wyjatkowym ;))
Dziekujemy za to, ze czasem zagladacie, a juz niedlugo beda zdjecia swiateczne, ktore moze choc wizualnie sprawia, ze jednak w te Swieta bedziemy razem.
